June 27, 2018

Our summer services are always simple and quiet.

This coming Sunday, July 1, we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

When you are able, please come and join us!

It is now officially summer, and I know that many of you savor time away, but whenever you are able, please come and join me on Sunday morning!

This coming Sunday, June 24, our annual Spring Congregational Meeting is scheduled for immediately following the service. The only item of business is the election of Church Council Officers and Team Representatives.

Let me also remind you that on Sunday evening, Rev. Craig Modahl will be conducting another Sunday Evening Service, at 7:00, in Fellowship Hall. Please help spread the word!

This coming Sunday morning, June 17, Rev. Don Niederfrank will conduct our morning service.

It’s the Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time, but, more importantly, it’s Father’s Day!

Four members of our church, David Franks, Louise Mollinger, Jeanne Mantsch and Paula Wesley, will be representing our church at the Annual Meeting of the Wisconsin Conference this coming weekend.

Our End-of-the-Year Confirmation Class Retreat is being held at the same time. Nine members of the class, along with four adults, will be traveling to the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan.

This coming Sunday morning, June 10, I will give you an update about both of these events. If you are able, please come and join me.

Also, don’t forget that this coming Sunday, June 10, Rev. Craig Modahl will be conducting a Sunday Evening Service at 7:00 in Fellowship Hall.

This coming Sunday, June 3, is Graduation Sunday in the life of our church. We take a moment to recognize all of our high school graduates, and we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

Don’t forget that during the summer months we celebrate with one service on Sunday mornings at 10:00.

This coming Sunday, May 27, is Confirmation Sunday in the life of our church. Sixteen members of our 8th Grade Confirmation Class will confirm their faith and become official members of the church. 

Don’t forget that we also begin our summer schedule. From Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend we celebrate with one service on Sunday mornings at 10:00.

This coming Sunday, May 20, is Pentecost Sunday in the life of the church. We celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit like wind and fire.

The colors for Pentecost Sunday are red and white. If you’d like to have a little fun, please wear something red and white to church.

We celebrate the end of the church program year with a Family Service at 10:00, followed by our 10th Annual Church Picnic. Our Fellowship Team is providing a sub sandwich lunch, so all you need to do is stay and join us. The Balloon Lady will, once again, be here for the kids.

May 10, 2018

This coming Sunday, May 13, is known as Ascension Sunday in the life of the church.  We read the ancient story (not intended to be taken literally) that describes Jesus being carried up into heaven.

This coming Sunday we also celebrate Mother’s Day.  Our Carol and Chapel Choirs join the Senior Choir to sing the Introit at the 10:00 service.

This coming Sunday is also our last Church School Sunday of the program year.  The kids will be making Pentecost Pinwheels to celebrate the season.

This coming Sunday, May 6, we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion at both services.

Immediately following the 10:00 service, we have scheduled a Spring Clean-Up of the Creekside Commons. Please feel free to wear your outdoor work clothes to church, and come lend a hand!

This coming Sunday, April 29, our Senior Choir joins us at the 10:00 service.

We’ve scheduled our annual Spring Congregational Meeting for immediately following the service.

Our third annual Spring Music Recital is at 2:00 in the afternoon.

This coming Sunday morning, April 22, we celebrate another Family Service in the life of our church at 10:00. Our Carol and Chapel Choirs will sing and our 8th Grade Confirmation Class will assist me in leading the service.

This coming Sunday, April 15, we continue our celebration of Easter. Our Handbell Choir joins us at the 10:00 service, and Pru Palecek will be at the piano. The service also includes the Sacrament of Baptism.

April 5, 2018

This coming Sunday, April 8, Don Niederfrank conducts our morning services as we continue our celebration of Easter. Kai-i Tien will be with us at the piano.

We also celebrate another Church School Sunday at 10:00. The theme for the day is Signs of New Life. The kids will be going on a nature walk, around the church and in the Creekside Commons, to search for signs of spring. Please bring warm jackets and outdoor shoes or boots.

This coming Sunday, March 25, is Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week. Everyone receives leafy palm branches as they enter the sanctuary.

The Handbell Choir joins us at the 10:00 service.

We are now in the church season of Lent, forty days, not counting Sundays, that lead us to the celebration of Easter.

This coming Sunday, March 4, we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion at both services.  Pru Palacek will be with us at the piano.

This coming Sunday, February 25, we celebrate the second Sunday in the church season of Lent.

At 10:00 we celebrate another Family Service in the life of our church. Our Carol and Chapel Choirs will sing and our 8th Grade Confirmation Class will assist me in leading the service.

As part of the 10:00 service, Louise Mollinger will teach us how to sign these ancient words of faith in American Sign Language:

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

This coming Sunday, February 18, is the first Sunday in the church season of Lent.

The Handbell Choir joins us at the 10:00 service. We also celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism.

February 8, 2018

This coming Sunday, February 11, is known as Transfiguration Sunday in the life of the church, the last Sunday in the church season of Epiphany.

We celebrate another Church School Sunday at 10:00. Our children will be learning the ancient words from the Hebrew Scriptures that are also part of our Church Covenant:

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

To help them remember these words, they will be learning them in American Sign Language, and making a wall plaque to take home with them.

It sounds like a wonderful morning!

This coming Sunday, January 28, we celebrate another Family Service at 10:00.  Our Carol and Chapel Choirs will sing and our 8th Grade Confirmation Class will assist me in leading the service.  As part of the service, we will officially welcome New Members into our community of faith.

Immediately following the 10:00 service, we have scheduled our annual Winter Congregational Meeting.  Our two items of business are an end-of-the-year financial report and the approval of a 2018 Church Budget.

This coming Sunday, January 21, Don Niederfrank, our Minister of Visitation, will lead our morning services. Our Handbell Choir joins the celebration at 10:00.

This coming Sunday, January 14, we celebrate the second Sunday in the church season of Epiphany. Our Senior Choir joins us at the 10:00 service which also includes the Sacrament of Baptism.

Please help spread the word that this coming Sunday is also another Church School Sunday.  Our kids will be learning the story about Jesus walking on water from the sixth chapter of the Gospel of Mark. The theme for the Sunday is Do Not Be Afraid! The morning will include tying blankets for the We Believe Foundation.

This coming Sunday, January 7, we begin the church season of Epiphany. We celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion at both services along with a Renewal of Baptism.
