On New Year’s Eve, we celebrate Epiphany Sunday at 10:00.

Ken Matthews, a life-long member of our church, will conduct the service for the 29th year in a row.

December 18, 2017

Please help spread the word that on Christmas Eve we celebrate with four different services, one in the morning, and three in the evening.

On Sunday morning, we celebrate the Fourth Sunday in the church Season of Advent at 10:00.  Rev. Don Niederfrank, our Minister of Visitation, will offer the Meditation.

On Sunday evening, we celebrate Christmas with three candlelight services.  Our 4:30 Christmas Pageant is designed especially for families with young children. The 7:00 service features the Senior Choir and Christmas Brass. At the 9:30 service we celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion and enjoy special music provided by several members of the Senior Choir. All three evening services include candle lighting and a selection of our traditional Christmas hymns.

This coming Sunday, December 17, marks the third Sunday in the church season of Advent.  The Handbell Choir joins us at the 10:00 service, and we light the Advent Candle of Joy.

This coming Sunday is also another Church School Sunday. The kids will be learning about the Christmas Story and creating Christmas table decorations to share with their family and friends.

This coming Sunday, December 10, marks the second Sunday in the church season of Advent.  We light the Advent Candle of Peace.

At 10:00, we celebrate another Family Service in the life of our church.  The Carol and Chapel Choirs will sing and our 8th Grade Confirmation Class will assist me in leading the service.

Our 25th Annual Christmas Cookie Sale (in memory of Sally Gilson Ziegler) will be held on Saturday, December 16, from 9:00 to 1:00, in Fellowship Hall, in conjunction with the Winter Market. Members and friends of the church are invited to bake and contribute their favorite holiday cookies. Please drop off your cookies anytime on Thursday, December 14. You are also invited to help assemble the boxes of cookies from 5:00 - 6:30 on Thursday evening.

This coming Sunday, November 19, is Thanksgiving Sunday in the life of our church. We celebrate another Family Service at 10:00. Our Carol and Chapel Choirs will sing and the 8th Grade Confirmation Class will assist me with the service.

November 9, 2017

This coming Sunday, November 12, is another Church School Sunday in the life or our church.  Our children will be learning the story about Joseph and His Brothers from the ancient Book of Genesis.  It is a powerful story about jealousy and forgiveness.  To help the kids remember the meaning of the story, they will all receive a T-Shirt at the end of the morning, but please do not tell them ahead of time!

The Senior Choir joins us at the 10:00 service and Sherri Melichar will be at the piano.  Immediately following the service, we have scheduled our annual Fall Congregational Meeting.  The only item of business is the presentation of the proposed 2018 Church Budget.

This coming Sunday, November 5, is All Saints Sunday in the life of our church.  We celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion at both services and we remember all those members and friends who have died in the course of the past year.  We are also receiving New Members at our 10:00 service.

This coming Sunday, October 29, the Senior Choir joins us at the 10:00 service and Kai-i Tien will be at the piano.

On Sunday evening, at 6:00, we are hosting an Inquirer’s Gathering for folks who are new to our church community. It’s an opportunity to learn a little bit more about First Congregational Church and to meet other newcomers.

This coming Sunday, October 8, is our second Church School Sunday of the year. Our children will be learning the story of Noah and the Ark. To help them remember the story, they will be creating their own stained glass window of the dove and the olive branch.

The Senior Choir joins us at the 10:00 service and Sherri Melichar will be at the piano.

This coming Sunday, October 1, we celebrate World Communion Sunday in the life of the church. We receive our annual Neighbors in Need offering to support the outreach work of the United Church of Christ. Kai-i Tien will be with us at the piano.

As many of you know, a new church program year is now underway.  We gather for two services on Sunday mornings at 8:00 and 10:00.

This coming Sunday, September 24, we celebrate our first Family Service of the year at 10:00. As part of the service, we dedicate our 2018 Confirmation Class, our Carol and Chapel Choirs sing, and we celebrate another baptism.

As many of you know, a new church program year is now underway.  We gather for two services on Sunday mornings at 8:00 and 10:00.

This coming Sunday, September 17, our Senior Choir joins us at the 10:00 service and Sherri Melichar will be with us at the organ and the piano.

Please help spread the word that our Church School meets one Sunday each month, in addition to our monthly Family Service. Our next Family Service is September 24, and our next Church School Sunday is October 8. On the other Sundays of the month, including this coming Sunday, children and youth are invited to join us for either of our morning services.

This coming Sunday, September 10, marks the start of a new program year in the life of our church.  We move to two services on Sunday mornings at 8:00 and 10:00.

Our Church School program also begins on Sunday morning at 10:00.  For their first mission project of the year the kids will be assembling Church World Service Cleanup Buckets to assist those in need in Texas and quite possibly in Florida.

This coming Sunday, September 3, is our last summer Sunday of the season. We celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion, and Kai-i Tien will be with us at the piano.

Next Sunday morning, September 10, we begin our church program year. We move to two services at 8:00 and 10:00.
