In Memoriam

George Yons died on Thursday morning, June 11.  A memorial service was held at the church on Sunday afternoon, June 28.  George served as minister of our church from 1966 – 1969.  He and his wife Kay once again became members of our church in the fall of 1999.


• To Layla Lynne Vaiana, daughter of Anton and Kate, who was baptized into the Christian faith on Sunday, June 28.

• To Danielle Strauss and Scot Johnston who were married on Saturday afternoon, June 27.  Jeff conducted their wedding in the church sanctuary.

• To Craig Modahl who was chosen as one of two persons without disabilities to receive the United Church of Christ Disabilities Ministries Award for 2015. It was presented to Craig at the UCC General Synod 2015 held in Cleveland, Ohio, June 26-30.

• To Jack Robert Ewig, child of Adam and Jessica, and great-grandchild of Betty, who was baptized into the Christian faith on Sunday, June 21.

• To Kristie Weiss and Joel Leiviska who were married on Saturday afternoon, June 20.  Jeff conducted their wedding in Coal Dock Park.

• To Emma Mary Riemer, daughter of Matt and Sarah, who was baptized into the Christian faith on Sunday, June 14.

• To Oliver Trevor Schoen, son of Trevor and Kim, who was baptized into the Christian faith on Sunday, June 14.

• To Mike and Jane Spalding who celebrated the birth of their second grandchild, Ori Michael LeBlanc, born on Wednesday, June 10, in Houston, Texas.

• To Evelyn Rose Wittek, daughter of Jason Wittek and Kristin Ironside, who was baptized into the Christian faith on Sunday, June 7.

• To Margaret Niederfrank who won two gold medals, one silver, and one bronze in the Special Olympics state swim competition held in Stevens Point on Saturday, June 6.

• To the Knellsville 4-H Club for providing more than twenty volunteers to mulch all of the church beds.

During the summer months, from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend, we celebrate with one service on Sunday mornings at 9:00. (There is no Church School or Nursery Care during the summer months.)


The church office will be closed on Thursdays through the end of August. Office hours are from 8:30 – Noon.


On Sunday morning, June 7, we officially welcomed four new members into our community of faith.  Please give them a hearty welcome: Alex Funk and Emily Kapszukiewicz and Matt and Sarah Riemer (daughter Emma).




Port Pre-School is currently accepting registration for its 3K Program. Children must be 3 years old by September 1, 2015.  Classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, or Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.  Daily activities include circle time, music and movement, teacher-directed projects, child-centered play, snack time, sharing time, and story time.
