SUMMER OFFICE HOURS

The church office will be closed on Mondays through the end of August. Office hours will be Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 – 11:30.

SUMMER ALTAR FLOWERS

So many members and friends of the church have beautiful flower gardens that we thought we might try something new this summer. We are inviting you to contribute a vase of fresh flowers for the communion table on Sunday mornings. A sign-up sheet has been posted on the church bulletin board or you may contact Beckie in the church office to sign-up for a week or two.

LAWN MOWING

The Property Team invites you to sign up for a week or two to cut the church lawn this season. You may bring your own lawn mower or you may make arrangements to use the mower here at the church. You might be interested to know that the church just purchased a new self-propelled mower! Please contact the church office or check out the sign-up sheet posted in front of the church office.

SUPPORT FOR WALKERS, RUNNERS AND BIKERS

Every year, members and friends of our church participate in charitable fundraising walks, runs, and bike rides, helping to raise thousands of dollars for a variety of worthy causes.  As a church community, we would like to support these efforts by offering to donate $100 per event from our Local Mission Fund.  If you are planning to participate in one of these events, please contact the church office for an application form. You might like to know that thus far this year we have supported Pam Geiken-Zeman running a half-marathon to raise funds for Sophia’s Heart, Karl Pradel biking in the Tour de Cure to raise funds for the American Diabetes Association, and Jane Schneider walking to raise funds for the Hearing Loss Association of America.

CHURCH SWIM NIGHT

The Fellowship Team invites families and friends of the church to mark their calendars for an evening of fun at the Pirate’s Hollow Community Water Park on Sunday, August 5, from 6:15 – 7:30 p.m. The church has reserved the entire pool, so admission is free; all you need to bring is your suit and towel! Families may also bring their own pool toys and refreshments. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

PORT PRE-SCHOOL

Port Pre-School is currently accepting registration for its 3K Program this fall.  Children must be 3 years old by September 1, 2012.  Classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.  Daily activities include circle time, music and movement, teacher-directed projects, child-centered play, snack time, sharing time, and story time. For more information, please call Lora Didier at (414) 881-2164.

CONGREGATIONAL CARE COMMITTEE

Several years ago, our church established a Congregational Care Committee to reach out to members and friends of the church who are hospitalized or homebound.  Members of the committee arrange short visits and do their best to offer ongoing support and care.  If this sounds like something you would enjoy, the committee invites you to join them, or perhaps you know of someone who might like to receive a visit.  For more information please contact Marabeth Hobgood at chobgood@wi.rr.com or (480) 249-0202.
